MY PASSION FOR QUILTING
I’VE SOLD MY QUILTS AT CRAFT FAIRS, ON THE INTERNET, AND IN MY HOME. I ALSO ENJOY DEMONSTRATING AT FAIRS. I HOPE THAT YOU ENJOY SEEING THE QUILTS I’VE CREATED. THEY ARE NOT FOR SALE AND YOU CANNOT ORDER THEM. YOU MIGHT CALL THEM MY “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” QUILTS. I ENJOY SEWING QUILTS THAT ARE DIFFERENT AND THAT ALLOW ME TO BE VERY CREATIVE. YOU ARE ALSO CREATIVE AND I’D LOVE TO SEE YOUR QUILTS. EMAIL ME A PICTURE AND WE JUST MIGHT BECOME QUILTING FRIENDS.
MOSAIC WALL HANGING
I bought this as a KIT which means that all the fabric is included in the price. If you are a beginner, it is good to buy kits because this will help you to learn what fabrics coordinate nicely together. Making appropriate fabric choices takes time to learn.
MY BEAUTIFUL IRIS
This is the first wall hanging I sewed using the “stain glass technique”. The 1/4 inch black binding that is used to cover the edges of the design resemble leading in real stain glass. Be sure to read the page called, Stain Glass Technique Class. This technique can be a challenge to learn, but if you enjoy learning a different technique, this is worth your time and effort. As you can see, the result is a very stunning design like my Iris wall hanging.
SCALLOPED EDGE LAP QUILT
I’m very proud of this quilt. I took a class to learn how to sew a scalloped edge because I was tired of sewing square edges. Notice the baskets and the green/yellow fabric I chose. The flowers and leaves on the border certainly add to the beauty of this quilt.
QUILT FOR MY SON
The white block inside the star design has a saying about a person’ s son. When you enlarge the small picture you might be able to read one of the sayings.
WREATH OF FLOWERS WALL HANGING
If you are a beginner quilter, it is a good idea to buy kits such as this because this will help you to learn what fabrics coordinate nicely together. Coordinating different fabrics for a quilt block takes time to learn. Be sure to check that the kit says it is for a beginner.
ONE OF MY FIRST QUILTS SEWN IN 2001
I have many years of sewing experience so this helped me tremendously when I first learned to quilt. I am a detailed person so when I found out that quilting involves accuracy and attention to detail I was happy. It also gave me the chance to use more of my creativity that I ever did on a sewing project. This is what I love most about quilting.
ASIAN FAN DESIGN VEST
This vest was sewn from a pattern and the fan is the main focus so I used fabric with all the colors I love most. The small flowers on the right side were created by me. I encourage you to sew vests or other clothing that allows you to use your talent and creativity.
VEST WITH SMALL ORIGAMI FLOWERS
Vests are easy to sew. The small origami flowers were a challenge at first, but after folding a few of them it got easier. I used a book called, Flower Origami written by Kumiko Sudo.
QUILTED FALL SEASON JACKET
I took a challenging class several years ago to learn to sew and quilt this jacket. This jacket is definitely not something I will ever sew again, but I still make use of things that I learned from that class. This was a big accomplishment for me and I get compliments from people all the time when I wear it. I encourage you to take a class that teaches you how to sew and quilt garments. Don’t be afraid to challenge yourself.
